Key Stage 4 Results (GCSE) 2016
78% of students achieved A*-C grades in English and Mathematics, considerably above the national average of 59%.
This year, the Government has introduced a new performance measure called Progress 8 which indicates the progress made by students in secondary school across eight key subjects including English, Maths, Science, Humanities and Languages.
Our Progress 8 score was +0.6 which is ‘well above national average’ (set at 0).
Attainment 8 measures a student's average grade across eight subjects – the same subjects that count for Progress 8. To calculate a student’s Attainment 8 score, you add up the points for their eight subjects and divide by 10 to get their Attainment 8 score. To calculate the Academy's Attainment 8 score, you take the average of all our students' scores. Students who do not take eight subjects, score zero for any unfilled slots.
Our Attainment 8 score was 54.2, above the national average of 48.5.
