Introduction to Faculties
Upon joining Harris Academy Merton every student joins a faculty. Faculties provide a sense of belonging to a smaller unit which overcomes the concerns some students have when moving to a large secondary school. These are Baird, Napier, Newton and Seacole. Post 16 students and the Resources staff are allocated to, and work with, all the Faculties.
There is a healthy rivalry amongst the faculties which increases student motivation and encourages students to work together. Throughout the Academy life students represent their Faculty in a wide variety of ways including sporting and other activities.
