Axiom Maths Trip
Budding Mathematicians Visit the Science Museum
Recently, students from our Axiom Maths groups, alongside other budding mathematicians, enjoyed an exciting visit to the Science Museum. The trip provided a fantastic opportunity for students to see how mathematics is applied in the real world and to explore the links between maths, science and technology.
The Benefits of Axiom Maths
Axiom Maths is designed to stretch and challenge students who show strong mathematical potential. Through problem‑solving activities, collaborative discussion and deeper mathematical thinking, students develop confidence, resilience and the ability to tackle complex challenges. The programme encourages students to think creatively and logically while nurturing a genuine love of mathematics.

Maths in Action
Throughout the visit, students completed a range of maths‑focused challenges linked to the exhibits. It was wonderful to see the enthusiasm, determination and teamwork on display as students applied their mathematical skills in new and engaging contexts. They represented the school brilliantly and fully embraced the opportunities the day offered.
Looking Ahead
Our Year 8 students will continue their Axiom Maths circles this year, further developing their problem‑solving skills and mathematical reasoning. We are also pleased to announce that our new Year 7 circles will begin after half term, providing another group of students with the opportunity to be challenged, inspired and supported as they explore mathematics beyond the classroom.
