Personal Development Enrichment

Our Personal Development Enrichment Curriculum runs on Monday and Tuesday afternoons for Key Stage 3 students.

The programme offers a dynamic and enriching experience designed to build character, support future educational pathways, and introduce students to a wide range of career opportunities with over 20 sessions on offer across key stage 3. Each half term, students rotate through a variety of engaging activities drawn from subjects such as science, dance, computer science, media, humanities, art and design, and careers education. This broad and varied offer enables students to develop essential skills while gaining a deeper understanding of themselves and the world around them.

Our Core Aims

The Personal Development Enrichment Programme is structured around three key goals:

Character Values – developing ambition, resilience, integrity and excellence.
Next Steps – preparing students for future education choices, training and employment.
Careers – exploring opportunities and developing vital employability skills.

Year Group Focus

Each year group follows a specific theme to guide their learning and personal growth:

Year 7 – Ambition
Students are encouraged to step outside their comfort zones, strive for success and demonstrate passion and determination. They learn new skills, set high standards for themselves and overcome challenges with confidence.

Year 8 – Resilience
Students focus on perseverance, adaptability and teamwork. They develop a solutions‑focused mindset and learn how to respond positively to setbacks with determination and flexibility.

Year 9 – Excellence
Students embrace the value of lifelong learning, take pride in their work and reflect on their strengths and areas for development. They set meaningful goals, seek greater understanding and commit to achieving their personal best.

This programme plays a vital role in supporting academic progress while nurturing personal growth, helping students to become confident, respectful and future‑ready individuals.
