Students Excel in Jack Petchey Speak Out Challenge

Proud Moment for Harris Academy Merton: Students Excel in Jack Petchey Speak Out Challenge
Earlier this year, 60 students from Harris Academy Merton participated in the Jack Petchey Speak Out Challenge workshops, with seven talented individuals advancing to the assembly final. From there, Amrit Singh and Rehman Rafei were chosen to represent our academy in the Merton Regional Finals.
This week, both Amrit and Rehman took part in the Merton Regional Finals at Wimbledon College, facing off against 11 other competitors from six schools.
Celebrating Our Students' Success
We are thrilled to congratulate Amrit and Rehman on their impressive performance in this prestigious competition. The Jack Petchey Speak Out Challenge is designed to encourage young people to develop their public speaking skills, and our students have excelled in this area, demonstrating significant improvement in their communication skills.
Both Amrit and Rehman have shown dedication and commitment to their preparation, and we are proud of their hard work and achievements.
A Special Mention for Zayd Anwar
We would also like to extend a special thank you to Zayd Anwar, our reigning Regional champion from last year, who kindly stepped up to be the Master of Ceremonies for the evening and provided valuable support to the competition organisers.
