Personal Development

Whether students aim for top universities, apprenticeships, or directly entering the workforce, the qualifications at Harris Sixth Form Merton Campus are tailored to ensure they are fully prepared for the challenges ahead.

Through a combination of academic rigour, extracurricular activities, and tailored career guidance, we foster the skills and experiences that lead to success in higher education or employment.

Work Experience & Careers

At Harris Sixth Form Merton Campus, Year 12 students have the exciting opportunity to secure a one-week work experience placement during the summer term. This valuable experience allows students to immerse themselves in a professional environment, gaining practical insights into their chosen career paths. With the support of our dedicated career advisor, students receive guidance in identifying and applying for placements that match their interests and aspirations. Additionally, we collaborate with a range of external agencies that offer exclusive opportunities, including pathway programmes, which provide tailored support for university applications, apprenticeships, and careers in various industries. These experiences not only help students build essential skills but also enhance their employability and provide a competitive edge for their future.

Pastoral & Enrichment Programmes

At Harris Sixth Form Merton, we believe in developing well-rounded individuals by offering a rich and diverse range of non-qualification activities that complement academic learning. Our pastoral and enrichment programmes are designed to enhance students' character, broaden their skills, and build their confidence. Every student participates in an enrichment programme where they can choose from a variety of engaging activities, including art and sculpture, basketball, beginner Spanish, book club, fitness, crochet, economics club, psychology club, robotics, safeguarding, and table tennis. These activities not only promote personal growth but also provide valuable opportunities for leadership, teamwork, and social interaction, helping to support progression into further education or the workplace.
