Harris Experience Cohort Excel in Mock Trial

Year 10 students from Harris Academy Merton enjoyed a fantastic day out at Harris Academy Invictus. The event provided them with the opportunity to work with real-life barristers and participate in a mock trial run by Kalisher's Law Trust.

A Day of Learning and Challenge

Our students were given the role of prosecutors and tasked with convincing the jury, comprised of fellow Harris Federation students, that the person on trial was guilty. Tobi, Abigail, and Tabitha volunteered to represent their group, delivering an impressive speech to the audience using a range of persuasive language techniques and legal ideas learned on the day to secure a conviction.

Pursuing a Career in Law

The students had a fantastic time and demonstrated a genuine passion for learning more about pursuing a career in law. This event not only provided them with a unique learning experience but also instilled in them a deeper appreciation for the importance of a strong education in shaping their future aspirations.
