British Film Institute Trip
Year 11 Spanish Students' Interactive Study Day
In February 2026, Harris Academy Merton's Year 11 Spanish students took part in an exciting interactive study day at the British Film Institute.
During the day, students had the opportunity to watch short films that explored themes of identity and culture, introducing them to new vocabulary and allowing them to practice their listening, speaking, and writing skills.
Before the film screening, students enjoyed a packed lunch on the Southbank, taking in the sights and sounds of this vibrant area.
The highlight of the day was the screening of Ballplayer: Pelotero, a documentary about two young baseball prospects in the Dominican Republic. This engaging film provided students with a unique insight into the culture and way of life in a foreign country.
This interactive study day was a great way for Year 11 Spanish students to extend their learning outside of the classroom and develop a deeper understanding of the Spanish language and culture.
