Talk Consent RSHE Assemblies

Talk Consent RSHE Assemblies

RSHE Assemblies at Harris Academy Merton

Over the course of Tuesday 14th and Wednesday 15th July 2026, all students in Years 7 to 12 took part in a series of important RSHE assemblies delivered by Talk Consent, a specialist organisation that works with young people to promote safe, respectful, and healthy relationships.

Interactive and Engaging Sessions

During the 50-minute sessions, students explored key topics including consent, sexual harassment, and positive healthy relationships. The assemblies provided age-appropriate information on current statistics, relevant laws and legislation, and the social and personal impact that these issues can have on individuals and communities.

Students were encouraged to engage with a range of real-life scenarios, discussing how situations could be prevented, how outcomes could be changed through positive choices, and the potential consequences for both victims and perpetrators. These discussions helped students develop their understanding of respect, personal responsibility, and how to support both themselves and others.

Student Engagement and Maturity

The sessions were highly interactive, giving students valuable opportunities to share their views, ask questions, and learn from both their peers and the Talk Consent facilitators. We were particularly pleased with the maturity and thoughtfulness shown by our students, who contributed positively throughout and demonstrated a strong willingness to engage with these important topics.

Commitment to RSHE

As a school, we are committed to ensuring that all students receive high-quality Relationships, Sex and Health Education (RSHE) that equips them with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to build healthy relationships, understand their rights and responsibilities, and make informed decisions that keep themselves and others safe.

Thanks to Talk Consent

We would like to thank Talk Consent for delivering these informative and impactful sessions, which have had a positive impact on our students and our school community.
