Assessment

Students will sit one exam and need to complete 2 units of coursework across the two years. In Year 10 students will complete:

Unit 50: In the Digital World - this unit accesses the students understanding of IT in the digital world. It is an exam unit where students will learn about design and testing concepts for creating an IT solution or product, and the uses of IT in the digital world.  This is an exam unit which will be sat at the end of year 11. 

Unit 60: This unit is assessed by completing a set assignment. In this unit you will learn how to plan, design, create, test and evaluate a data manipulation spreadsheet solution to meet client’s requirements. You will be able to evaluate your solution based on the user requirements. This is a coursework unit which students complete in year 10 ready for May moderation.

Assessment

Students will be assessed on two units of course work in Year 11. Their course work grades from these units will be combined with the grades they achieved on the work they completed in Year 10.

Unit 1 (Fundamentals of IT) will start with multiple choice questions followed by a mixture of short and long answer questions. Unit 2 (Global Information) will be the same less the multiple choice section.
