Year 7 Applications

The Academy has an admissions number of 240 in Year 7.

For admissions from primary school to Year 7, parent/carers are required to complete a Common Application Form (CAF) obtained from their Local Authority or apply online at www.eadmissions.org.uk.  No applications made direct to the Academy will be accepted.

Parent/carers are strongly advised to read carefully the Academy’s admissions policy (using the link at the bottom of this page) and information & advice from their local authority.  The CAF must be submitted by 31st October.

If choosing this Academy as a preference on the CAF, please enter the full name of Harris Academy Merton as there are several Harris Academies in the surrounding area.

In March the parent/carer’s local authority will notify them of the school where their child has been offered a place.  To accept this offer they should return the acceptance form to their local authority.

Those who did not receive an offer of a place at this Academy have the right to lodge an appeal against this decision.  Details of how to do this are below.

In-year Applications

For applications to current Years 7-11 please contact the London Borough of Merton’s school admissions department on 020 8274 4906 for an application form. Details regarding how places are allocated and the In Year Admissions Protocol can be found here. The application form should be returned to the London Borough of Merton for processing. If more applications are received than there are places available the oversubscription criteria on the Academy’s admission policy will apply.

Parent/carers will have the right of appeal if their application is not successful.

Appeals Process

Parent/carers who wish to appeal against the Academy’s decision not to offer a place to their child for year groups 7-11 should complete the HAM - Admissions Appeal Form below. The Academy will arrange for an Independent Appeal Panel to consider the Academy’s reasons for refusal and the parent/carer’s reasons for wanting their child to attend the Academy.

The decision of the Independent Appeal Panel is binding on both the Academy and the parent/carers.
