All project coursework, practical outcomes produced and results from written examinations will contribute toward a student's overall assessment grade.  Assessment is based upon classwork, half termly practical assessments against a criteria given to students, and end of term written examinations.

Each year group will rotate on a termly basis (carousel) across the three Design & Technology disciplines: Food Technology, Graphic Products and Resistant Materials.  At the end of each year, students will receive a grade based on their average scores across all three areas.
