Rewards Trip to the Science Museum
Students who achieved 100% attendance and no negatives during the Autumn Term were treated to a day out at the Science Museum. On arrival first point of call was to look around the amazing exhibition on Cosmonauts: Birth of the Space Age; quite apt with Tim Peake currently in space!. Students and staff found it fascinating especially the equipment that was shown in a timeline from the early years of space travel to the current time – how things have changed!
Students were then taught how to build a radio and speakers; using very basic equipment of a plastic dish and tape!
“The science museum trip was really fun and allowed us to learn lots of new things. We learnt about what it was like to be a cosmonaut including how they go to the toilet and eat in space. We also looked at how everyday objects have changed over time, with calculators being as big as cars. It was a really interesting and a great experience. I would definitely go again”.
