Year 9 GCSE Option Choices

Dear Year 9 Students, Parents and Carers,

Update 26//02/2021:

Well done to all the Year 9 students that have engaged in such high quality discussions and asking so many good questions. Mrs Sami held a 2nd Assembly this afternoon for a Q&A session and shared with them a form link for students to complete and submit to capture their initial thoughts. This information will support their 1:1 meeting next week with a member of ALT. We wish you all the best for next week Year 9.

For the students that were unable to join the assembly today, a recording of the session is posted on the Year Group Teams, under General.

It is that time of the year whereby students review our Key Stage 4 course offer and select the courses they would like to start in September 2021.

This is a strange year whereby the ‘normal’ information evening for parents & carers cannot go ahead. However, we have done our best to re-think the format to create a virtual event, to share with you the key information, process and dates.

What’s next?

Making decisions can be hard. We have tried to make this process as easy as possible, to prepare your child for their 1:1 consultation with their Assistant Principal.

Student 1:1 consultations will be happening week beginning 1^st March 2021. We would like students to prepare for these discussions by short-listing their 3 choices, with a 4^th option choice as a ‘reserve’.
